Dr. Scott Smith, of Counsel, practiced medicine for over twenty years in Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico, before becoming an attorney. His experience and medical knowledge will benefit litigators in four major areas:
Dr. Smith is a board certified Independent Medical Examiner, giving him further specialization and expertise in forensic medicine, injury evaluation and medical disabilities. Similarly, Ms. Erika Anderson, associate, worked for four years as a mental health therapist before turning to law, and brings to our firm another highly specialized ability to assist litigators and assess cases involving all aspects of mental health, including complex family histories. Together, these professionals offer invaluable insight for those who may otherwise lack clinical and expert understanding. Specialized Training AND SeminarsRobles, Rael & Anaya, P.C. attorneys offer a wide variety of specialized training and seminars. Partners Christina Anaya and Luis Robles have significant expertise in training groups ranging from small employers and employees, to governmental bodies, to entire law enforcement departments. Ms. Anaya provides specialized training for employers of all sizes, including governmental clients. She conducts employee training on a variety of employment law topics, and advises employers about issues of employee discipline and discharge and preparation and revision of personnel policies. The goal of these proactive training sessions is to allow clients to recognize and avoid complicated and time-consuming legal matters, so that they may focus their energy on what matters most to them: conducting prompt, efficient business with an educated staff. Mr. Robles frequently provides training seminars for law enforcement, corrections, and other security personnel. In addition to teaching basic cadet level courses, he regularly provides advanced level training for tactical team members and supervisors in high liability areas. He has written a police training manual entitled The Law of Less-Lethal and Deadly Force, which is used by law enforcement department nationwide, and an article published in the National Tactical Officers Association’s journal, The Tactical Edge.
