Professional ExperienceDr. Smith practiced medicine for twenty years in Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico and has experience in virtually every aspect of medical care. Prior to becoming an attorney, Dr. Smith served as chairman of the division of Emergency Medicine for Lovelace Medical Center as well as medical director of the Lovelace Emergency Department. His vast experience in emergency medicine made him keenly aware of the potential for lawsuits, and that awareness is what led him, ultimately, to the law. Having the expertise to understand all aspects of where medicine intersects with the law provides our firm with a one-of-a-kind ability to represent clients who may otherwise lack a very specific understanding. Dr. Smith’s practice focuses in the areas of medical malpractice from the plaintiff and defendant perspectives, forensic medicine, injury evaluation, and medical disabilities. He is also a board certified Independent Medical Examiner.
