Julio P. Garcia was admitted to the State Bar of New Mexico in September 2018. He is also certified to practice in the United States District Court for the District of New Mexico. Mr. Garcia’s education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in English and a Master of Arts in Public Affairs with an emphasis in Political and Governmental Processes from New Mexico Highlands University. Mr. Garcia obtained his Juris Doctor from the University of New Mexico School of Law.
During his undergraduate and graduate studies, Mr. Garcia worked in local, state, and federal government, including the City of Las Vegas Attorney’s Office, the Fourth Judicial District Court of New Mexico, the Legislative Council Service at the New Mexico Legislature, and the U.S. Department of Commerce. Mr. Garcia also served as a Tutor and as a Student Senator at New Mexico Highlands University. In 2014, Mr. Garcia joined RRA as legal assistant and clerked for the firm throughout law school.
As an associate with RRA, Mr. Garcia represents a wide range of clients, including governmental entities, private corporations, and private parties, in a variety of matters. Mr. Garcia has become an adept litigator, defending state and local governing bodies in cases involving civil rights and tort claims. Mr. Garcia also assists governmental clients in addressing many governance issues, such as land use, Open Meetings Act, and Inspection of Public Records Act issues. Mr. Garcia has also performed exemplary work on a diverse array of cases which included corporate liability, transactional, real property, employment, and negligence claims. Mr. Garcia has proved proficiency in advising clients on administration of their daily affairs, ensuring that clients are represented by a skillful attorney able to address their varied needs.
